Resumo: | Pig farming is a vital activity for the economic development of the country, endowed with great representativeness in the supply and export of pork. In addition, it has importance in generating jobs, being considered a significant source of income and social stability. However, despite these benefits, its activities are responsible for generating numerous environmental and social impacts, which tend to affect the availability of resources, the balance of ecosystems and the quality of life, especially in rural areas. Pork manure is the main problem to be faced due to its high organic load, however there is a significant shortage of adequate management practices and final disposal. In this context, it is believed that the biodigester technology is able to act in the use of these, proposing benefits, in energetic and environmental terms. Therefore, the present work has as main objective to evaluate the socio-environmental perception of rural producers after the implementation of biodigesters. The methodology used consisted of bibliographic research and application of a questionnaire in eight rural properties located in the state of Paraná. The main results showed that the biodigester promotes relevant environmental, economic and social benefits. It was possible to identify the perception of rural producers, regarding the concern with environmental degradation, and consequently, with the importance of establishing interactions, in the dimensions (social, economic and environmental), for the sustainable development of the pig sector. |
