Resumo: The object of this investigation is translation, in an enunciative perspective, in order to understand the influence of social environment in translation of online media texts. In this perspective, the translated text is understood as the result of a work of transposition, that is, it is explicit that when translating a text from one language to another, a new text appears. In this context, it is noticed that not only the concept of translation has changed, but also the concept of language, since the translation activity covers several cultural and socio-historical aspects that are inherent to the concept of language. This new perspective of the translation practice has brought some questions that find shelter in the theory of Bakhtin and his Circle. This theory helps understand the influence of the social environment on language, how much information and culture are determined by external forces. Thus, the general objective of this research is to analyze how information and culture are (trans) ported from English language to Portuguese language in online media texts. In order to do so, through this article, it is analyzed the translation of four texts, which are available on BBC - British Broadcasting Corporation - public radio and television station in the United Kingdom, on the website of the broadcaster in Brazil. This article is theoretically based on the studies of translation of Lefevere (1992a, 1992b, 2004), Bassnett (2003a, 2003b, 2003c), Paz (1971), Mounin (1975), Humboldt (1992b, 2008), Petrilli and Bakhtin's theory and his Circle, under the watchful eye of Bakhtin / Volochínov (2014) and Bakhtin (1993, 2010a, 2010b, 2015). It is therefore a qualitative research, which analyzes the translation of texts from English language to Portuguese language. The analysis of the texts has showed that the appreciative value accent of the original text is always different from that of the translation, in addition, the tones printed in the original texts differ significantly from the tones printed in the transposed texts. Consequently, the theme and meaning are in permanent renewal and this recreation, so to speak, is a result of the socio-historical situation in which a particular text is found. The content, that is, the information is rooted in the form of expression (culture), so there is no way to treat them separately. In addition, it is believed that the direction of the original texts, which were analyzed, is different from the direction of the transposed texts, which were translated into Portuguese by BBC Braz il, and this evaluating attitude is strictly related to the socio-historical situation of Brazil. Thus, through the analyses, it can be said that translation can be considered a recreation, since both the content and the form of expression are constantly evolving, since all enunciation anchors itself in a socio-historical moment that will directly influence in the meaning of this.
