This dissertation aims to analyze, through the study of photographic and filmic images, the transformations that took place in the Municipality of Tupaciguara between the 1920s and 1960s, emphasizing the local historical process in the search for modernity. It is also proposed to understand how, in the course of these decades, the cultural, architectural, urban, and economic transformations of the city of Tupaciguara after the 1920s were analyzed. It analyzes the insertion of modern architecture in the city, as well as the reflections of its Traces to society as a whole. Photographs and scenes from the film "Tupaciguara - Land of the Mother of God" will be widely used in this study, since they portray a society that incessantly seeks the modernization of its urban space. In this sense, the plurality of characteristics of this social-urban process of the city is listed.
