Resumo: | This research focuses on analyzing the impacts of social security reforms on macroeconomic variables such as consumption, social security benefit, social security system balance and the welfare level of individuals, using an overlapping generation model (OLG) which takes into account a deficit pension system economy and three alternative scenarios. This contributes to the national literature by implementing individuals with heterogeneous skills who allocate a portion of the time to the development of human capital. Among the results obtained it is noteworthy that parametric changes in the pay-as-you-go system are not sufficient to solve the social security deficit while the change to the capitalization system is responsible for neutralizing the social security balance. In analyzing welfare and income inequality, it is clear that the change to the fully funded system is the best alternative for young people and retirees, as well as the proposal that results in a greater reduction in income inequality income among individuals.98 |
