Resumo: |
The theme of this dissertation is part of the third United Nations Sustainable Development Goal - Ensuring a healthy life and promoting well-being for everybody, for all ages and end, by 2030, newborn and children under 5 years old avoidable deaths in all countries in order to reduce neonatal mortality to at least 12 per 1000 live births and under-5 mortality to at least 25 per 1000 live births. The Agenda of Research priorities of the Ministry of Health has also included: Axis 14 – Maternal and Child Health. Based on the Agenda of Priorities and demand from health managers in the city of Santa Maria/RS, in addition to the survey of demands/difficulties with health/nursing professionals, the aim was to qualify prenatal care, through an educational technology, in order to reduce the incidence of Congenital Syphilis in that city. Therefore, the objective was to know the perception of postpartum women diagnosed with Congenital Syphilis who had conceived children concerning the guidelines they had received during prenatal care in the context of the Family Health Strategy Program, as well as to develop an educational technology, such as a booklet, on Congenital Syphilis to be used by nurses in prenatal care. The methodology was conducted through a descriptive field research, with a qualitative approach, carried out between January/2022 and March/2022, based on a documentary survey of the notification forms in the Epidemiological Surveillance, and research with postpartum women who had conceived children while diagnosed with Congenital Syphilis within the scope of Family Health Strategies teams, located in the city of Santa Maria/RS. The results show important fragility with regard to prenatal care. In addition to the incomplete number of prenatal consultations recommended by the Ministry of Health, the puerperal women portrayed superficial information and/or no information regarding the prevention or treatment of Congenital Syphilis. In the same direction, little or no strategy for partner commitment in prenatal consultations or in treatment was observed. In sum, it was denoted that the weaknesses are associated, above all, with the attitude of the health/nursing professionals themselves, who have been not very proactive in the active search and in the design of prospective strategies for the prevention and/or treatment of confirmed cases of congenital syphilis. Final considerations: It is concluded that women who had conceived children while diagnosed with Congenital Syphilis did not have adequate knowledge about the disease in the gestational period, considering that the information was related only to the treatment. Although part of the women had prenatal care as recommended by the Ministry of Health, they were not clarified about Congenital Syphilis, leading to the question: where are the gaps related to cases of congenital syphilis? Would these gaps be spotted in the actions of the professionals who perform prenatal care, in public policies or in pregnant women and their partners? In this sense, health professionals proactive attitudes are fundamental in order to access pregnant women with altered test results and who need differentiated care during prenatal care and with the adhesion of partners. Product and its applicability: The educational technology produced – a booklet entitled Preventing Congenital Syphilis – was developed in order to sensitize and make both users and health professionals aware of the relevance of the prevention and treatment of Congenital Syphilis, in order to reduce maternal and infant morbidity and mortality rates. With this technology, it is shown that simple, practical and easily accessible technological resources can contribute in a promising and intuitive way to the achievement of best practices in the scope of prenatal care in the context of Family Health Strategy Programs. The educational technological product, in the form of a booklet, is directly related to the qualification of prenatal care, and also to the reduction of the incidence of congenital syphilis in our region, based on a practical, didactic and accessible technological resource for health professionals. |
