Resumo: | The present research tries to insert itself in the area of the philosophy of the mind and tries to discuss that which seems to be one of its most problematic points: the ontological problem - sometimes referred to as mind-body problem. The first two chapters constitute a mapping that aims to promote a survey of the main approaches to this problem within the area; The main approaches can be framed in two great ways of interpretation that are opposites, commonly referred to as dualistic and materialistic. The third and fourth chapters seek to indicate an impossibility of the empirical resolution of the ontological problem, due to the irreducibility aspect that our mental character presents, and to a possibility of linguistic resolution of the same. The fifth and last chapter tries to describe how mind and body are part of a unitary phenomenon, constituting itself as the double aspect of an organism, being that mental and physical are configured as distinct modes of presentation of the same process. |
