Resumo: ABSTRACT: The research deals with juvenilization in the EJA: meanings and implications of the schooling process of young people. It links the State and Educational Management Research Line and the Research Group for Basic and Higher Education Policies of the Graduate Program in Education, Federal University of Maranhão. In the methodological course, a bibliographical, documentary and empirical research was carried out analytically critical. Among the authors referenced are HADDAD and DI PIERRO (2000), PAIVA (1987), ARROYO (2005, 2007, 2015), SPÓSITO (2002, 2005), RUMMERT (2007), CARRANO (2007, 2010), BRUNEL (2004); PAIS (1990, 1993), DAYRREL (1996, 2003, 2004, 2007, 2011) and others. The documentary research uses Laws, decrees, resolutions and opinions, besides datas from the School Census from 2013 to 2016, in relation to numbers of enrollments in EJA by age group in Brazil, Maranhão and São Luís, as well as an analysis of the individual register of young people with the registration of their life school. In the field research, data collection instruments are used as questionnaires applied to 12 students between 15 and 17 years old and semi-structured interviews applied to 04 students in this same age group. The structure of the dissertation beyond the Introduction and conclusion contemplates three sections. In the Introduction the theme is presented, the thematic clipping, the guiding questions, the objectives the methodological delineation of the research and in a synthetic way the exposition of the text. The second part deals with the education of young people and adults in Brazil, identifying progress and setbacks. In the third, the focus of the reflections focuses on the process of youthization of the EJA, based on the analysis of current concepts and conceptions about this phenomenon, and the analysis of the policies, histories and memories in Maranhão and in the municipal network of São Luís it‟s repercussions in this educational modality. In the fourth part lies the locus of the research UEB Journalist Pedro Neiva Moreira: the increasingly young EJA, the emphasis of the analysis focuses on the young, their ways of life and school trajectories, seeking to apprehend the meanings and their perceptions about their school trajectory. Data analysis indicates that enrollment in EJA, especially in the 2nd elementary school segment, is composed of a large number of teenagers between 15 and 17 years with irregular school trajectories, marked by repetition and dropout in regular education, and reveals the perspectives of these young people in relation to their schooling process.
