Resumo: | Our essay is focused on the novel A Paixão segundo G.H., by Clarice Lispector. In this analysis we take some concepts of lacanian materialism to understand both the way the narrative is structured and the conflicts experienced by the narrator. We use the conceptual triad of the Real, Symbolic and Imaginary, referring to the three instances from which it is possible to understand the subject and the world. From these instances, we explore only the Real and the Symbolic, analyzing the traumatic perception experienced by the narrator, commonly called "epiphany" by theorists, as a contact with the lacanian Real. Through analysis, we show how the plot of A Paixão segundo G.H. is structurally attached to the processes suffered by the narrator, thus the narrative may be divided into three "times": the first is related to the identification of G.H. with the Symbolic order, with a minor disruption of the narrative; the second relates to the progressive "splintering" of the narrative, caused by the traumatic encounter with the Real; and the third refers to the fact that the story can be seen as structured as a search for re-symbolization of the traumatic experience. Our hypothesis is that only through the Symbolic level, from which the narrator initially runs away, it is possible to restructure herself as an individual. In short, there are many and noticeable aspects of the Symbolic and encounter with the Real that is found in this literary work, explaining the connection between the fictional universe created by Clarice Lispector in her novel and the sphere of theoretical aspects we explore in this essay. |
