Resumo: Study aimed to understand the experiences of children in front of cancer, with its features addressed in different contexts. This is a proposal that includes actions for children with leukemia and their difficulties. These difficulties may be related to the harsh treatment that the disease imposes to them, depriving the contact to their families, their friends and school, also depriving another various aspects, such as certain foods and some types of play. The aim of this study was to verify through storytelling, the understanding that children with leukemia have on their experiences during the process of disease and its treatment. This research was carried out with children, answered within a Community institution in support of the cancer patient in a city located in the south central region of Paraná, during the year 2014. The sample with the participation of three children, two female and one male, aged between six and ten years in treatment/control of Leukemia Acute Lymphocytic type (ALL). Were proposed and implemented 7 sessions of intervention, divided by 6 sessions of "storytelling" and 1 free activities relating to storytelling. At the end of each session was asked to produce a design for children, for the purpose of complementing obtained reports. Data analysis based on the speech of children and to characterize the design production, said elements of storytelling and every child`s profile. The results obtained propose that each child is expressed and port as your personality, physical and emotional conditions at the time of the session. The results also showed that the use of play activities involving "storytelling" and the design offers opportunities for children to express what they feel, or what they experienced or experiences at the present time, as well as their aspirations for the future . Furthermore, these expressions of children mark an important point: the current moment lived. Thus, we suggest the continuation of this research on children with chronic diseases, in other stages and situations, using longitudinal methodology in order to compare and forward the results to date.
