Resumo: |
Due to social inequality, many children and teenagers in Brazil live in poverty. With little to no support from the State and unable to use the products available on the market, these adolescents face the difficult task of creating a life project and future of their own. This study focusses on the poor suburban teenagers and investigates what their speeches mean by using material collected from several meetings with teenagers living in Brasilandia, a neighborhood in the outskirts of Sao Paulo. During these meetings, several activities to encourage its participants to reflect about their future took part. One of them was musical composition, in which researchers and guest artist helped the adolescent produce their own music. Using the material collected during these interactions, this study analyzes the theme that includes artistic expression, social sciences, and psychology |
