Resumo: |
The voices of the group of practitioners and digital influencers in the bodybuilding universe fit into the context of unusual sounds, which may involve spoken emissions that deviate from the everyday pattern, and may or may not characterize a voice/oral language pathology. This experimental, observational, descriptive, cross-sectional study aimed to analyze the spoken voice of bodybuilding digital influencers from a perceptual point of view (VPAS-PB script), correlating them to body silhouettes. Phonetic sciences, with a focus on the relationship between perception and speech production, support the research. 46 digital influencers were selected from the YoutubeTM and InstagramTM platforms. The audio samples were extracted from the videos made available on these platforms. This corpus was analyzed in two successive stages of perceptual analysis (visual and auditory). In stage 1 (visual), the influencers' images were analyzed by three bodybuilding professionals to define their body silhouettes and/or bodybuilding category. In stage 2 (auditory), the audios were submitted to an evaluator experienced in the use of the VPAS-PB phonetic analysis tool, based on the description of Vocal Quality Adjustments (AQV) and Elements of Vocal Dynamics (EVD). The data was submitted to multivariate statistical analysis using the R environment, as a way of exploring correspondences between VQS / VDA profiles and body silhouettes representative of bodybuilding categories. The spoken voice of bodybuilding digital influencers revealed distinct characteristics in terms of vocal quality adjustments (VQA) and vocal dynamics elements (VDE) compared to the general population. These findings are particularly evident when considering the gender of the practitioners, with specific VQA and VDE relating to: phonatory VQAs, vocal tract and laryngeal muscle tension, supralaryngeal laryngeal height, VDE temporal and respiratory VDE for females; and phonatory VQAs, vocal tract and laryngeal muscle tension, supralaryngeal of laryngeal height and VDE of pitch for males. Regarding the association between VQA and VDE and body silhouettes, as an investigation of the informative characteristics of vocal quality and dynamics, few correlations were initially outlined |
