This research presents an analysis of the organization of pedagogical work in prison education, wherein research agents were the pedagogues who work in State Center for Basic Education for Youths and Adults –CEEBJA Dr. Mário Faraco. This educational institution is located inside the Penitentiary system of Parana State, in Piraquara town, which conducts school attendance in partnership with SEJU/SESP, since 1982. It was proposed, as a general objective, to analyze how the organization of educational work in prison education is carried, considering various assignments assumed by pedagogues that overlap the main pedagogical issues. It was defined as specific objectives: to discuss prison education; to identify the profile of people deprived of freedom who are through schooling process in CEEBJA Dr. Mário Faraco; to list some limiting factors in prison education; and to discuss how to coordinate the organization of pedagogical work in prison education. Thus, the main assignments of pedagogue inside CEEBJA and prison system were listed, analyzing their practice and establishing some criteria that guide the practice of teachers who work in the prison system, as well as the various tasks assumed by pedagogues that overlap the main pedagogical issues. In the first part of this work, prison education was discussed, characterizing, initially, the Education for Youths and Adults – EJA and further Education for Youths and Adults in prision; and afterward it was presented a brief history of CEEBJA Dr. Mário Faraco, based on writers as: Arroyo (2007), Freire (2013), Gadotti (2011), Julião (2007), Onofre (2014), Saviani (2010, 2013). In the second part, the social function of pedagogue was presented, analyzing the concept of pedagogy and highlighting the main tasks for further analysis in this investigative work. In this part, the bibliographic reference was: Bruno (2009), Placco (2009), Garrido (2009), Pimenta (2012), Vasconcellos (2013). Following, it was presented the fieldwork carried out under a qualitative and exploratory approach, combining theoretical analysis and empirical work, through interview. Collected data were analyzed using the Content Analysis method, based on Bardin (2011). It is expected that, with this research, an analysis and a contribution on the organization of educational work and continuing formation in prison education may be offered for pedagogues, educators and other people who are interested in knowing and / or working in the context of education in the prison system. This subject is still poorly investigated, therefore it is important to emphasize the importance of this modality of education focused on the essence of human formation, giving visibility to prison education, educators and pedagogues, which also leads to unveil the work carried out for society despite the limits and contradictions for the realization of a quality education. |
