Resumo: Reproduction by induction is a technic completely dominated, however is possible that some current proceedings utilized, would prejudice the larval production. Thus, the use of the instruments (fowl blume, spatula, etc), to blend the gamets, would can a factor to decrease the larval prodution. This work has as main objetive this hypothesis. For the experiment it was utilized the freshwater fish tambaqui Colossoma macropomum (CUVIER, 1816). To such, it was delineated a test with two conditions: A - blend the gamets with the use of the instruments , and B - blend the gamets without the use of the instruments (blend the gamets with the soft agitation of the vessel). After fertilization , the eggs were analised under a Scanning electron-microscope, thus were confirmed the existence of the damage realized by the instruments on the superficial structure. In B condition occured a increasing rate of fecundation (F(1:14) = 12,90, p < 0,01) and the larval hatching (F(1:14) = 8,43, p < 0,05). Thus, the use of the instruments isn’t to recommended for the enlargemented of larval prodution.
