In Recife, to achieve a civilized city, the woman turned into an important part in building a city along with the lines of civilization. In the matter of that, the woman was shaped according to the interest of social groups that forged her. Allied with this desire for progress, the urban transformations that have occurred in the city of Recife and its consequences allowed a modification of the profile of women in society . In different historical moments in 1800 in spite of conservative sectors of society, in newspapers, in magazines, on the rostrum moments, discussions about female emancipation controversy and generated new pointed spaces which women would occupy in the twentieth century. The literature has incorporated these changes, and in all literary periods, the novel came to be questioned. In his work, "A Emparedada da Rua Nova" a writer from Pernambuco called Carneiro Vilela engaged this woman of the late nineteenth century and made us an offender profile female for the time, setting for each of these women lack the social and moral punishment that fit them. |
