Resumo: |
Anti-communism has often influenced decision-making by the state. The creation of the Political and Social Order Department - DOPS and the National Security Law are fruit of this aspect of the political culture so present in the state of Pernambuco. The purpose of this dissertation is to analyze the modifications instituted by the State in the Political Police in order to combat communism based on the monitoring actions of the social body in Pernambuco, taking as reference the apprehension made to the PCB Regional Committee in the year of 1956 and the institution of the Police School of Pernambuco, of the Institute of Technical Police that also included the Institute of Legal Medicine. From this issue will be analyzed the National Security Law, police documents, newspapers and magazines with the purpose of discussing police monitoring, the establishment of the Police School and the new ways of action of the police force in the search for control of political dissidents in the state, demonstrating the fact that the more the state invested in improving its mechanisms of control and surveillance of society, the greater the incidence of political dissidents in the period. |
