Resumo: This research investigated the forms of traditional knowledge in a littoral community, from the use of the natural resources, its way of life and observed as this knowledge was transformed through the generations for the formal knowledge, evidencing importance of this traditional knowledge - passed through the generations, of empirical form - and its transformation for the formal knowledge (education, technology and innovation), describing of that it forms can be incorporated the way of traditional production of the fishing of the Island of God, making possible the socioeconomics, ambient and cultural changes in this community. The research also mapear the social reality of the families who inhabit the locality, identifying the main traditional knowledge analyzing the origin of these knowledge and discovering as they had been transmitted, looking for to understand as these traditional knowledge, joined to the technology and the formal knowledge they can contribute with the local economy and to the support, exactly with decurrently ambient impacts of the pollution.
