Resumo: |
Published in 2012, the novel “The Confession of the Liones” was inspired by actual events. The characters are based on real models and show, in their construction, the imagination and the peculiar creativity of a novelist like Mia Couto. The space and personal relations represented attracted attention in such a way that this work had as objective to analyze the personages in their relations with the landscape and with the Other in the time of the events occurred, the post colonialism. In this sense, the analysis is structured based on the theoretical assumptions of Michel Collot on the perception of the landscape; Aspects of Yu-fu Tuan theory of space and place, and Antonio Candido reflections on the character of the novel. Works by scholars such as Stuart Hall on the Diaspora and the new cultural configurations arising from post colonialism also complement the theoretical bases upon which the analysis rests. |
