Resumo: This research aims to study the reflection and analysis of the “search theme”, in the work of Canadian writer Alice Ann Munro, more specifically the storybook Fugitivo (2014) and the filmic transposition of part of this work, by Pedro Almodóvar Caballero in the movie Juliet (2016). From the book, 3 short stories were selected, namely: “Occasion”, “Soon” and “Silence”. These tales function as intertexts in Almodóvar's filmography. To develop the present study, we sought theoretical, critical and methodological support in comparative studies in literature and other arts, intermediate studies and studies on the theme of travel as existential displacements of female characters, which in their erasures configure the “theme of the search ”. We understand that this theme contemplates other potent derivations for literary creation as well as for filmic creation, for example, images of silence, archetypal images of the feminine, childhood memories, which, in turn, include mother-branch relations, unrealized loves. , generating a movement of departures and arrivals rich in dislocations of the feminine self, and in the process we observe deconstruction, for example of the maternal myth. The study methodology used here allows us to reflect on the processes of intermediary and transcreation of the literary text to the film. This look allows us to locate the points of conjunction and disjunction between the works, analyzing the basic operations of film construction, which will result in the expansion and transformation of the literary sign. We use as theoretical basis, Claus Clüver (2006), Julia Kristeva (2014), Haroldo de Campos (2010), Santiago Kovadloff (2003), Elisabeth Badinter (1980), Robert Stam (2006), Serguei Eisenstein (2002), Ismail Xavier (2003), among others.
