Resumo: The Primary Health Care has sought to consolidate itself as a strategy to guide the organization of the health system and meet the needs of the population with the understanding of health as a social right; strengthening the links between the services and the population, universal access and ensuring the completeness and fairness of assistance. Among the necessary reformulations, is to transform the way of working in health facilities, promoting changes in the dynamics of the labor process, so it is possible the implementation of health care based on the needs of the population. A demand that stands out is the care of children, which should be based on prevention, promotion, cure and rehabilitation. Given these assertions, the issue emerged that guided the study: the structure and process of health work interfere with solving the Primary Children's Health? There are differences in the health care provided to the child where there is the Family Health Strategy functioning compared to a traditional health unit? Thus, the general objective of this research was to identify aspects of structure and process of the services that require restatement or reformulation in search of quality for the planning and execution of actions of Primary Child Health. Yet had the following specific objectives: to analyze the structure of basic health units in accordance with existing physical area of Primary Health guidelines; grasp the process of working in two primary care units to identify critical nodes for solving the Primary Child Health. This is a survey of qualitative and quantitative approach. The reference methodology was philosophical hermeneutics. The quantitative data collection occurred in 23 health units through script whose analysis was statistical. Qualitative data were collected through non-participant observation and analysis for thematic units. The results were presented in the form of three papers, which showed that the physical structure of the units has minimally required items, flows and organization of the working process negatively influence the process of team work, both traditional as unity in Health Strategy Family, there are nurses and pediatric units in developing a working predominantly fragmented and piecemeal, focusing on professional and not on the user and staff. Access to health services showed weaknesses regarding the health care of the child. The unit with the FHS showed no difference in child care compared to traditional health unit. It was concluded that the problems in the structure and work process tend to hinder the actions of health for children in the Primary Health Care And what changes can be effected through adjustments in the structure and work process in order to afford care in resolving child health group
