Insects are extremely successful animals and, despite their small size, are associated with various aspects of human life. These organisms play an important role in nature, establishing relationships with humans, plants and animals. They are of great educational importance because they are an easily accessible model that allows a better understanding of animal biology, as well as promoting the dissemination of the knowledge generated within the School to society as a whole, where students are the main vehicles of information. Therefore, the present research aims to characterize a living biological model as a didactic resource for Science and Biology classes. It is a descriptive research based on the suggestions of volunteers to reformulate and improve a cricket creation manual, so that it can be applied economically and effectively within the school. The biological material used in the research was obtained on February 2014 at CIEP Field 375 Wilson Gray, a public institution located in the Parque São Vicente neighborhood in Belford Roxo. The species Acheta domesticus (Linnaeus, 1758) is considered cosmopolitan, belongs to the Gryllidae family and is omnivorous. Four individuals were collected, two couples who were taken to the laboratory of UNIGRANRIO and used as a basis for formation of the establishment. A manual of creation was prepared and submitted to the evaluation of four employees, who verified the applicability of the same. Some suggestions were made by the collaborators in order to increase the educational product of this dissertation. It is believed that this contributes to add new opportunities in teaching science and biology, making classes more dynamic and meaningful learning more effective. |
