This research has an intention to understand and to analyze the importance of Flávio de Carvalho (1899, Barra Mansa, RJ - 1973, Valinhos, SP). His works "Dialética da Moda" and "Casa, homem, paisagem" The articles that he used to write in the newspaper O Diário de São Paulo. Analyzing the possible influences that the artist obtained in the artistic world and his artistic works about the body and the costume, especially "Experiência nº3". In the same year of publication of the articles the artist developed and tailored of a suit that the artist called it the "New look", and he uses it as a performance manifesto parading through the center of the capital of São Paulo. The artist's studies and the production of the costume were made as an intention to research human behavior in the psychosocial habitat, and to produce an anthropological study about how the human being dresses and expresses the concept of freedom.
