Cinema is part of the lives of thousands of people around the world and in the era of the highest technological development, we are surrounded by different forms of consumption of film content. Bearing in mind that cinema, in its more than one hundred years of existence, has participated in the lives of individuals, being an important means of expression and communication. Based on this, in the present work, we seek to problematize cinema in the midst of capitalist society, in which it can be perceived that it has a dialectical dimension with the historical reality and while a cultural manifestation participates in the formation of the consciousness of individuals, whether in the sense of reproducing dominant ideology for maintaining the current system, or contributing to the formation of a critical conscience in relation to reality.
