Resumo: Cecília Meireles left us a legacy of more than two thousands poems, innumerable chronics, essays and prose texts. Among them there is Crônica Trovada da Cidade de Sam Sebastiam, published in 1965, one year after the author's death, which still remains with little critical study. Crônica Trovada was written on the occasion of the fourth centenary of Rio de Janeiro’s city and tells his foundation story, mainly, trough the rereading of colonial texts and the literary tradition. In this sense, this work proposes to investigate the poetry structuring aspects of this work that consolidates the dialogues with the first literary manifestations of the nation that began. Therefore, it is questioned how Crônica Trovada poetry retells colonial texts and what aesthetic and historical issues this retelling raises. For this, three poems had been analyzed: "O lugar”, "Arariboia visita Governador Salema” and "Gesta de Men de Saa”, investigating the consolidation of dialogues with informative literature, through the resources inside the text, in view of Gérard Genette (2010) transtextuality perspective, of Antoine Compagnon theory citation (1996), and others texts that relativize the dialogues between poetry and historical or literary texts in modernity. The conclusions point out that cecilian poetry turns to colonial discourse reorganization where there is a destabilization of the Portuguese hero image who sometimes is silenced, sometimes is fragilized.
