Resumo: | This work has as main objective to reconstruct the Environmental history of the city of Agudo, RS, from the changes taking place in the landscape of the city in the twentieth century. We tried to understand the propellant reason and the feelings of the first German immigrants in the town of Agudo, Brazil, RS, who crossed the Atlantic to build a new environment. We were sought to raise the opinion of his descendants, with regard to the effects of these changes today, other words, and the replacement of native forests for agricultural production. In the first stage, the literature was carried out to prepare the theoretical framework about the German colonization in the town of Agudo, and based on the environmental perspective, putting attention to the relationship between the form of colonization and occupation of geographic space. Then it was photographed places where there was a greater loss of native vegetation for agricultural cultivation. After characterized the original natural landscape of the city of Agudo, through instruments preserved (objects, photographs and newspapers) as well as from reports of oral history sources and preserved. Then held up a bank of images that allows the city to express iconographic form the transformation of the landscape of Agudo throughout the twentieth century and so have the identifying brands of the cultural landscape of the city, discussing its potential to sustain a process endogenous development. The actions of German settlers and their descendants can be considered as an important 'step' for change ravishing the landscape in the study area, profoundly modifying the original landscape and a vision of society becoming unsustainable and also unbalanced, other words, a form of civility that is not self-sustaining, so that the environment is desestruture to achieve them. The accelerated change of native forest vegetation to agricultural areas is due to the fact that the pace of advancement of new techniques for modernization of agriculture and the number of people directly involved. The results were analyzed, discussed and supplemented by pictures (photos). It was concluded that the ways of managing with the land that immigrants used in the town of Agudo resulted in growth and economic dynamism, but also caused damage that persist today. It was verified the weakening of the countryside and the imbalance, since the landscape was homogenized by human action, causing the known environmental imbalances. In respect to the social part of the county, many people were excluded from the agricultural production process, because this model has led to the banishment of knowledge and techniques of cultivation. Interference in space did not spare the natural limits of the elements thus affecting the identity of the landscape in the study area. Rebuilding Environmental History of the town of Agudo, RS, from the changes taking place in the landscape of the city in the twentieth century is very important to evaluate and understand the consequences today. The systematization of this research resulted in the analysis of changes occurring in the landscape of the city concerned, the notion of seeking to provide construction and destruction of space author-natural. So, the knowledge of this reality, it may be possible to build paradigm changes, aimed at social and environmental care. |
