Resumo: Cardiovascular diseases constitute a major cause of morbidity and mortality in several countries and in first place of death in Brazil. Customers affected by clinical presentation of coronary heart disease may exhibit cardiovascular complications that are treated in the intensive care unit. GENERAL OBJECTIVE: Develop an instrument for data collection for adult clients served in Coronary intensive care unit of the Hospital Memorial São Francisco, based on basic human Needs theory of Wanda de Aguiar Horta. SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES: Identify empirical indicators of basic human Needs in customers with coronary heart disease, in literature and in medical records of internal clients in Coronary intensive care unit; Develop diagnostic/affirmative results and nursing interventions from clinical indicators of basic human Needs identified; Structuring an instrument serving the steps of the nursing process to internal customers in Coronary intensive care unit. METHODOLOGY:This is a methodological research, which was held in the Coronary intensive care unit of the Hospital Memorial São Francisco, population 13 nurses and welfare 09 sample nurses working in Coronary ICU assistance and that through informed consent agreed to participate in the study. Was developed in three phases: identification of empirical indicators of basic human needs in coronary; structuring of the nursing consultation instrument in coronary; development of diagnostic/affirmative outcomes and nursing interventions from clinical indicators of basic human Needs identified. RESULTS:It was carried out an extensive review of the literature and an analysis of customers ' records to identify coronary the needs of these customers on the basis of what has been proposed by Wanda de Aguiar Horta, resulting in obtaining specific indicators for coronary. Then affirmative diagnose names were developed/outcomes and nursing interventions, which were used in the construction of the first instrument as a result of simple analysis and, after this step the final construction of the instrument, where 9 nurses participated in this study among these 6 (66.7%) aged 20-30 years, 7 (77.9%) represented the female, 8 (88.8%) has expertise in the theme study, 4 (44.4%) from 1-5 years has and 4 (44.4%) from 6-10 years of professional experience in intensive therapy, 5 (55.65) of 1-5 years with experience in intensive therapy, 7 (77.9%) Act as assisting nurses. FINAL CONSIDERATIONS: It is expected that with the construction of the data collection instrument of coronary care clients provided above the needs found thus decreasing, your length of stay bringing benefit in your treatment and prognosis as well as enhance the implementation of systematization of nursing care by serving as a model for other Coronary intensive care units enabling efficiency in quality of care provided and an appreciation of the role of the nurse in the institution.
