Resumo: Hospital humanization can be characterized by a process of intense exchange of professional knowledge and practices that go beyond one-time and linear actions. This way, in the sense of contributing to the fomentation of more humane and harboring ambiances, this paper had as objectives: Knowing the perception of embracement and ambiance, from the perspective of the colaborators of a medium scale hospital, and implement embracement and ambiance knowedge and practices, aiming for hospital humanization. This is an action research, developed from January 2019, initially with the active and multiplier participation of 18 collaborators and which continues in continuity through the actions maintained by collaborators and patients. The primary data were collected via the focal group technique and based on strategic focal analysis. However, the process of implementation of embracement and ambiance knowledge and practices, aiming for hospital humanization, happened in a procedural and dynamic way, with the participation of the multiplying participants, health managers and users. The results of this study evidentiate that promoting hospital embracement and ambiance, from the perspective of humanization, goes way beyond the renovation of hospital walls and the utilitarian and functional bonds. Beyond one-time and routine actions, there is the need of possibilitating relational processes that are harboring and potentializer of new ways of being and living among humans. There is the need to (re)signify professional attitudes and conducts, cristalized by the traditional and mechanicist way of practice, by way of respect, empathy, and the singular and multidimentionalaprehension of the human being. It is concluded that the embracement and ambiance, aiming for hospital humanization, run through the construction and the implementation of strategies, in a participative and multiplying fashion with everyone involved. It is important, in this process, that everyone feels like protagonists of new ways of being, living among and acting in health. The hospital embracement and ambiance are a matter of the life of and way of workers and user to conduct themselves. This way, environments that harbor and generate life, repercute in promotion of health, in professional motivation, in work satisfaction, finally, in more pleasure and less suffering. It is concluded , in sum, that investigative processes, accompanied by practical interventions in the reality of participants, amplify the interactions, empowers ongoing initiatives, favors multiprofessional acting, mobilizes new knowledge and practices, besides (re)signifying professional being and acting.
