Resumo: Breastfeeding is essential for both the mother and the child, as it encourages bonding and provides moments of affection and protection between the dyad. The practice of breastfeeding is considered exclusive when the child is receiving only breast milk in their diet. In contrast to exclusive breastfeeding, there is the problem related to early weaning, constituting a public health problem, both at the federal and worldwide levels, which requires immediate interventions. Objectives: To investigate how health professionals address the issue of breastfeeding in childcare consultations and to create an instructional video with an emphasis on breastfeeding for childcare consultations. Methodology: This is a research with an exploratory and descriptive qualitative approach. It was developed in a UBS and an ESF located in a city in the central region of Rio Grande Sul (RS), Brazil. The research participants were health professionals working at the UBS/ESF, namely: nurses, doctors, dentists, psychologists, nutritionists, speech therapists, physiotherapists and physical educators. Data collection was carried out in the second half of 2021. Data were analyzed based on content analysis. The research began after approval by the Ethics and Research Committee (CEP) according to Resolution nº 466/2012, and the research was approved under protocol CAAE: 54276621.7.0000.5306. Regarding the methodological aspects of the technical product, classified as instructional didactic material with multimedia in video format, its systematization was listed by stages: pre-production, production, post-production. Results: it was verified that the professionals participating in the research have knowledge about the theme and carry out guidelines in their centers of action. The construction of the video addressed the following topics that correlate with the theme of breastfeeding: Performance of the multidisciplinary health team in childcare consultations; Current recommendation on duration of breastfeeding and definitions according to WHO; Anatomy of the mammary glands and physiology of lactation; Introduction to exclusive breastfeeding and its benefits for the mother, child and society; Clinical management of lactation: position and correct attachment for breastfeeding; Breast care; manual milking, Main breast complications associated with breastfeeding. This technical production will serve as a trigger for permanent health education, capable of qualifying childcare care. Final considerations: The exposed topic is of paramount importance so that professional conduct is always based on current research. The construction of the instructional video, through the professionals' difficulties and potential, will enable the qualification of health actions in relation to breastfeeding. Technical product and applicability: the construction of the instructional video is configured as a didactic material based on the needs of health professionals. This product has guidelines capable of qualifying interprofessional conduct in childcare consultations. Furthermore, it should be noted that this product is replicable and comprehensive for scenarios similar to what was proposed, enabling a real impact on the work process in the short and medium term.
