Resumo: This dissertation develops paradidactic material about the Rusga event, in Mato Grosso, in 1834. To this end, a dialogue was held about the history of History teaching and about the Rusga, going through the conflict, its plots and characters. Firstly, an analysis of the history teaching paths and textbooks was carried out, aiming to understand the history of Brazilian education and, at the same time, the history of History teaching, observing changes and continuances over time. Furthermore, it focused on education in Mato Grosso during the colonial and imperial periods, highlighting singularities and divergences in relation to the national educational context. Next, we analyze, based on the historiographical debate, the motivations that led the popular classes to participate in the Rusga, understanding the political, social and economic aspects of the 1830s in the province of Mato Grosso that culminated in this event. In this sense, studies carried out by several researchers on the political history of Mato Grosso were reviewed, which presented a variety of perspectives and analyzes on the rebellion. Finally, based on these data, a textbook was developed for students in the final years of Elementary School, to be used as complementary material during History classes.
