Resumo: | The present research aims at comparing two literary works of the novel: Os Tambores de São Luis (1975), by Josué Montello, a work with enunciation in different periods, with a past that is present through a character; And Ferragus, chefe dos devoradores (1833), of Honoré de Balzac, with narrative in its present time, whose gaze turns to the Paris an physiognomies and resumes, in its characters, influences of a historical past and of political conflicts. The authors belong to a esthetic currents of different epochs: Balzac, of French romanticism, appears as a precursor of the realism that is constituted, in the second half of the nineteenth century; Josué Montello emerges as a contemporary author and brings in his works a esthetic traits that permeate the period that extends from the1930s to the beginning of the 21 st century. For theoretical foundation was worked mainly with Bakhtin, Antonio Candido, Sandra Nitrini, Alfredo Bosi. Some parts of the life in society, the scenes of the urban life, which have as protagonists the city-space of the novels, are analyzed: São Luis and Paris. Considering that the two novels are illustrative of different contexts and periods, there research developed through a critical and sociological approach of the narrative elements, emphasizing the time and space planes: the Bakhtinian notion of chronotope. |
