Resumo: Looking for investing in shaping literary readers in Elementary School, this work consists in a proposal of pedagogical intervention where it was suggested the reading and production of visual poetry. With the object of contributing to the students' literary formation and promote the development of their capabilities and expertise for a proficient visual poetry reading and supplying the students with enough knowledge, strategies, and instruments for a production of this kind, our proposal sought to provide literary experiences focusing in the production of visual poetry with digital assets. This qualitative study is based upon the research-action approach and was developed with 9th-grade elementary students in a school in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. This project consisted of the application of an educational sequence focused on the visual poetry reading, experimental workshops, and the production of a visual poetry piece through mobile applications and computer software. The experiences and feelings incited by the produced pieces were analyzed and valued during this project, as well as the improvement of the students' written and digital literacy who were about to finish the Elementary School. Through this project, it was verified that it is possible to successfully prepare students for visual poetry reading and production, and engage their interest in the genre, especially through the use of digital tools.
