This work is an ethnography of food practices of the Ye’kwana people, especially the female work of food growing in the gardens. Through the description of everyday events that occurred during the research, we will see how the production and consumption of food are associated with the chants and narratives of the Ye’kwana oral tradition. Dietary rules and restrictions will be described at different stages of life and how food is related to the production of soto neene, real people.
