Resumo: Museum education is one of the pillars for teaching / learning Visual Arts today. The research presented in this essay had the general objective of investigating the possibilities of using museums as a means of teaching / learning in Visual Arts in order to achieve significant learning in Art. Being an action research, it sought from the beginning, the involvement of students as proposing agents in the various stages and stages of the research carried out in the Youth and Adult Education (EJA) subsystem, of the São José Operário Teaching Center (CESJO). Having the years 2018 and 2019 as its time frame. It used narrative research in genres: visual and written from the museal experiences of the research and research subjects. For the construction of visual narratives, it used artography and visual pair, and the comparative method, methodological approaches specific to the arts with their systems of production and reading of museum objects, which gave support and instrumentalization in the dimension of educating artistically through museums. As a result, he found quanti / quali aspects of which he emphasizes the engagement of some school teachers, as well as students and their companions. It presents the results obtained with the realization of the learning products observed through analyzes and which allowed to conclude that museum education is a significant alternative for the teaching of Visual Arts.
