Resumo: |
The terms engomados and descamisados famous during an interview with a resident in the year 2015 and were confirmed in the year 2022. The two related types pointed out the possibility of being an expression of segregation, stigma and prejudice, among the inhabitants of the city, in the space of the only three streets (big, back and outside) existing in the 1950s. In this regard, in light of the theoretical models of segregation Negri (2008), stigma Nogueira (1950); Goffman (1988); and prejudice Allport (1954); Nogueira (1995) we investigated some relations between old and recent residents Elias and Scotson (2000), in that period, in the city of Imperatriz-MA. The work has its methodology anchored in the Social Sciences, with a qualitative approach. We emphasize that we intend to know some relations between the residents, such as labor and conflicts; to identify to which sociological categories, prejudice and/or stigma, Phelan; Link & Dovidio (2013) are mainly linked the terms “starched and undressed”; and understand the categories of stigma and prejudice in light of structural violence Parker & Aggleton (2003) and Parker (2013). but also a reaction from the latter and that there is difference in the content of stigma and prejudice, as well as parallels in the meanings of local typologies. |
