Resumo: |
The present work is the result of ethnographic research carried out within the scope of two prison units located within the geographic territory of the city of Imperatriz/MA, namely, Imperatriz Prison Unit (UPITZ) and Imperatriz Regional Penitentiary (PRITZ), both occupied only by male inmates. The main objective of the research is to know and analyze the possibilities of establishing and maintaining affective bonds between prisoners and their families and companions, in addition to other relationships eventually established between the inmates themselves, such as partnerships and brotherhood in criminal collectives (factions). The research was carried out with the inmates through the application of questionnaires, semi structured interviews and participant observation, in addition to informal conversations and/or semi-structured interviews with servants of the Imperatriz prison system, family members of people deprived of their liberty, members of the State Public Defender's Office, among others. others. Theoretically anchor the research ethnographies with a similar approach, in addition to a literature review on the Brazilian prison system, for a better understanding of the topic. |
