Affection involves caring actions, which allows the individual to feel encouraged in their school life or in any academic environment — especially to those in social vulnerability. Changing the socio-educational structure is a slow and gradual process, and doing so in social programs — such as the one this Essay focuses on — requires that the educational processes take good care of all affective relationships between educators and the children plus teenagers assisted. This matter is directly connected with the social educator and their experience. Thus, taking care of affection as a way of guaranteeing to the individual development, as well as the bonding between educatoreducand are important elements so these individuals can fully develop in a broady and critical way towards society. The purpose of this paper, therefore, is to investigate how the bond between the social educator and the children assisted by the “Projeto Quixote” is built. Understanding from the practice of these professionals what are the main bonding indicators. In order to achieve this goal, a questionnaire was proposed to the educators responsible for welcoming the children and the youth. The questionnaire consisted in demographic open and closed-ended questions, which are related to the researched topic, and were analyzed in order to find the connections among the studied concepts: affection, bonding and social environment. The main results show that affection is based on and also structure connections in the teachinglearning process. They also show that the bonds between educator-educand are fundamental factors for the educational process development. Based on the analyses, it became evident that educators practices from “Projeto Quixote” are based on attention, caring, respect, dialogue and trust towards the children and teenagers assisted. All educators are attentive to the children's behaviors and establish, in accordance with these indicators, an empowered environment in view of all vulnerabilities some of these children and youth are exposed to. The results of this research are expected to strengthen and enlarge the educational actions undertaken by “Projeto Quixote” educators as well as other similar programs that pay close attention to the vulnerability that affects so many of our children and teenagers |
