Resumo: This research has as its main goal the examination of interpersonal causative microconstructions in synchronic usages in spoken Brazilian Portuguese following a cognitivefunctional analysis. Prototypically, these micro-constructions follow the subsqueme “deixa eu X” where X is a cognition or elocution verb in the infinitive, as in deixa eu pensar, deixa eu falar, for example. The analyzed corpora are data from Projeto Fala Goiaina (FG) from Programa de Estudos sobre o Uso da Língua (PEUL), which is part of the work of Grupo Discurso e Gramática (D&G) and also non-systematized speech data, meaning that these belong to the commonly heard usages register, but were not in the analyzed corpora. Firstly, the work quantifies the many periphrastic causative micro-constructions that appear in the transcriptions. Afterwards, respecting the research emphasis, the causative interpersonal micro-constructions excerpts were selected according to the assumption that their phonological, morphological and discursive-functional specificities point to the occurrence of a linguistic change process. In the analysis, the research aimed to investigate clues about the constructionalization process of interpersonal causatives and describe their functionality in contemporary spoken Brazilian Portuguese. This investigation has as its theoretical basis the Functional Linguistics Centered in Use (or Cognitive-Functional Linguistics) field, which articulates principles from Classic Functionalism (GIVÓN, 1975, 2001; HOPPER; THOMPSON, 1980; HEINE et al, 1991) and Cognitive Linguistics (TALMY, 2000; CROFT; CRUSE, 2004). For the examination of constructionalization, the work supports itself in Traugott and Dasher (2004) and Traugott and Trousdale (2013). In the description concerning the functionality of the micro-construction in question, it is based on authors that work with the intersubjectivity conception (TRAUGOTT, 2010; TRAUGOTT; DASHER, 2004) and linguistic politeness (BROWN; LEVINSON, 1987). The usages found indicate that, when related to full causatives (eg: deixei os pássaros voar), these micro-constructions play a highlighted role in the interpersonal level, working as a politeness strategy, maintaining turn-taking and reformulation of speech.
