Resumo: This is a research whose objective is to reveal the processes of psychological resilience of three students in Physical Education classes at a public school in the municipality of Serra. In this sense, we present their stories of coping with adversities and the intrapersonal contexts in overlapping with the setbacks. The research question-problem is: how are survival and empowerment strategies manifested in face of the adversities of young people in Physical Education classes? Methodologically, existential phenomenology is used, which aims to understand reality through observation and description of what has been experienced. As instruments for data collection, a field diary, non-directive interviews and drawings were used. It is grounded, in terms of theoretical foundation, in the concepts of empathic listening, by Carl Rogers (1997); existential involvement and reflective distancing by Yolanda Cintrão Forghieri (2020), and psychological flexibility by Vitor Gomes (2015). In the literature review, conceptual aspects of the term “resilience” are addressed, presenting both the literal definition and the multiple theoretical approaches and describing the human sciences studies of the last five years on the subject. As a result of the research, video lessons were created and posted on YouTube about Physical Education and resilience.
