Resumo: |
This dissertation analyzes the thought of Adorno from the point of view of the possibilities of emancipation. To this end, we discuss not only the reasons which have led humanity to barbarism and the inability to transcend the given reality, but also the moments when the author suggests the impossibility of a total control of individual liberties by the objective world – although it’s very coercive. The intention is to let it shown that, despite the tendency of the Enlightenment to unstoppable progress and further development of capitalism in a system closed in on itself – and therefore able to block attempts to transformation through social organizations – Adorno firmly believes in the power of critical theory as a form of praxis and in the possibility that some individuals, through continuous efforts, will assume a self-critical and resistant attitude before themselves and society. If ways of history are not determined, why not to think we can have a better future? |
