Resumo: |
The struggle for land remains a relevant structural issue in Brazilian society, bringing to light several forms of conflicts, accomplishments and setbacks. These processes are engendered through resistance strategies and confrontations between different social groups, whose interests are defined antagonistically and reveal a field in permanent dispute. The agrarian reform settlements are a concrete expression and result from these processes of struggle for land and also constitute the object of study in this research, when considering the action of the various agents in the production of these spaces. Thus, the main objective was to analyze the Settlement Projects of Agrarian Reform in the Territory of Sisal - Bahia and the struggle for land permanence. It is important to point out that the settlements do not represent the final milestone of the struggle, since the settled families are now facing new challenges to ensure their permanence on the conquered land. In other words, the new challenges run through the struggle to guarantee housing, credits, technical assistance, working conditions, health and education services, infrastructure such as electrification, water supply etc. In the research process, based on theoretical-epistemological and empirical elements, we sought to investigate, beyond the process of creating the settlements, the conflicts and new fronts of struggles of the settled families. This research is part of this process, with the aim of contributing to the understanding of the agrarian reform settlements, within the perspective of the historical permanence of the Brazilian agrarian matter, marked by social struggles, conflicts and confrontations that are established in disputes for land appropriation and use. |
