Resumo: |
this dissertation analyzes the book Caderno de memórias coloniais (2011), by the Mozambican writer Isabela Figueiredo, through the levels of reading for the literary text, proposed by Roberto Schwarz (1997). We talked about how important this book is, its reception by the public and certain possible reactions from its reader. We also work on the genre autobiographical memories, in which our object of study is inserted. For that, we present a little of the historical context of the tension between Mozambique and Portugal. The first one, because it wanted freedom, and the second one, for not wanting to give up of its colony. All of It ended up imploding a war. In our analysis, we highlight the themes that the book addresses within the first level of reading that we call “Romance”. Then, at the second reading level, which we call "Family Relations", we speak of the context of the book, thinking about the period when it was written and the relationship between the author and her colonialist father. Subsequently, at the last part of this research, called “Guilt and Redemption”, we studied the writer's relationship with her father. We observe her life as a colonizer daughter and what this represents in terms of the guilt she feels and her redemption in relation to that guilt. |
