Resumo: |
The present study starts from the concept proposed by Maurice Blanchot of narrative event to conduct the analysis of the structural elements of the classic narrative, the modern romance and the hypermediatic work, aiming to elect and apply one of these models when creating an interactive documentary. Through a bibliographic review of authors such as Aristóteles, Ferdinand de Saussure, Maurice Blanchot, Roland Barthes, George Landow, Illana Snyder and Lev Manovich, we could verify that the most appropriated model to our purpose is the database as a genre. Presented by Manovich in the article Aesthetic Database , it proposes the use of database to compose narratives and it highlights the inversion of the sintagmatic and paradigmatic axes with works composed like this. Such model fits us because it displays an open and modulated structure that refrains from cause and effect associations to conduct the stories. In that manner, it permits the spectator to build his/her own route, in accordance with the possibilities offered by the database. In other words, it permits effective interactivity, once each user will be able to watch a different movie, depending on the data he/she decides to access. In order to create this database we conducted the unbuilding of the documentary Vão dos Buracos , a 52 minute movie performed in accordance with a classic narrative, and we reorganised it in video clips which received other videos edited with the shot material not used in the first movie. To compose this database we were guided by the paradigmatic axis which, in accordance with Saussure the units that have anything in common are associated in theory and, like this, they form a group in which several connections can be found. As a result of this application we verified that it is possible to transpose a work estructured in accordance with a classic narrative in an interactive work with open structure and with several beginnings and endings without damaging the comprehension of the story |
