O impeachment de Dilma Rousseff: ordem e disciplina nos editoriais dos jornais Folha de S. Paulo e O Estado de S. Paulo

Resumo: Aimed at the editorials that were published by newspapers Folha de S. Paulo and O Estado de S. Paulo during the period that preceded Dilma Rousseff’s impeachment, which was confirmed on 31 August 2016, the present research argues that there was a disciplinarian disposition in those articles. We point out that the impeachment thesis was deliberately built in the editorials in order to convey a message about the inevitability of the president’s ousting. The corpus under analysis comprises a total of 16 editorial texts published between November 2014 and April 2016. The main theoretical framework mobilizes the thinking of the French philosopher Michel Foucault regarding the powers of discourse control. Moreover, we do not escape the task of presenting the companies - Folha and Estado - so that we can compare their origins and political praxis to the material that forms the corpus of the research. Finally, we make an analysis of the editorial text as a category of opinionated journalism, discussing its uses and characteristics, and dialoguing with other researches that have editorials as their object
