The ageing process of Brazilians has attracted attention of academic researchers. The Physiotherapist must be prepared to work in a multi and interdisciplinary team, recognizing multiple aspects of diseases and, mainly, elderly biological, psychological and social conditions. The purpose of this study is to describe the perceptions of physiotherapist trainees of Centro Universitário Unifieo, in relation to the old age of elderly. Twenty four trainees aged between 20 to 35 years (mean of 25 years) studying in the seventh and eighth semesters participated in the study. The results were showed in a descriptive way and illustrated using some expositions. It can be observed that perception of Physiotherapist trainees is multiple, but negative characterization was outstanding, in comparison with neutral and positive aspects. As final consideration, the physiotherapy has the possibility to offer benefits to the elderly as they relate to prevention and adaptations of life, seeking always assess their physical state |
