Resumo: |
Skinner (1957) classified verbal responses between primary operants (tact, mand, intraverbal, textual, transcription) and established the autoclitic as the secondary verbal operant, which has the function of modifying the effect of the primary verbal operants, according to the specific necessities of the situation, always occurring with composition, which would be the emission of novel verbal behavior. Literature reviews on verbal behavior indicate that the autoclitic is the verbal operant less studied empirically. The objective of this work is to present a literature review of empirical studies that investigate the autoclitic. The articles analyzed were found in three databases with the objective of collecting national and international scientific articles: PsychInfo, PubMed and Scielo, utilizing the keywords “autoclitic”, “grammar AND Behavior Analysis”, and “composition AND Behavior analysis”. 25 articles were selected for review, 20 used the autoclitic as the dependent variable and 5 used it as the independent variable. In a general manner, for articles that used the autoclitic as the DV, the analysis focused on the types of autoclitic used, the teaching procedures employed and effect over the DV, the usage of novel stimuli in the training and testing phases for admeasurement of novel verbal behavior, the different types of baseline employed and the different tests for determining the existence of behaviors that are prerequisites for the autoclitic. For the studies that used the autoclitic as the IV, the analysis focused on the different types of autoclitics used as IV, the DVs and the results along with the experimental design. For the studies that used the autoclitic as the DV, the most frequent type was the relational autoclitic, the teaching procedures most employed was MET, the predominant type of baseline was a baseline with reinforcement of correct responses, the prerequisite test most employed was through clinical evaluation protocols. For the articles which used the autoclitic as the IV, the most common DV was reading responses, and the IV was employed through instructions. Based on this analysis new research paths are indicated |
