Resumo: | This paper aims to present a study that used the technique of error analysis for understanding the difficulties presented by the students in the discipline of Differential Calculus. While acknowledging the influence of other factors, the concern of the researcher in this work was focused on mathematical knowledge for the Calculus. The starting point was the analysis of the assessments made during the term. lt also was analyzed material that students could consult during the examinations and applied a questionnaire to those involved with the discipline (students, teachers and mentors). This research concluded that the greatest obstacle faced by students in this discipline is not the specific content of the calculus, but the basic knowledge of mathematics, studied in elementary and high levels. |
