Resumo: |
This study aimed to describe, analyze and investigate manifestations of psychological violence between intimate partners. The subject is relevant to science because this topic is still very recent and little explored worldwide, it is confirmed with a location of only 71 articles, published in 34 countries, by different areas, between 2005 and 2018. It is also noteworthy that no specific article with the descriptor “psychological violence” was found. However, to carry out this work, choose to carry out a quantitative, descriptive cross-sectional and convenience survey, with 651 questions, of both genders, aged between 14 and 23 years old, from a professional education institution, in eight different cities, grouped into three macro-regions: Downtown São Paulo, on the Cost and Country side of the State of São Paulo, which report some type of relationship with an intimate partner, through the Psychological Maltreatment Questionnaire (PMQ), through a LikeRt scale, with five points, with variation of the criteria: “strongly disagree” and “strongly agree”. The PMQ is composed of seven factors (devaluation, humiliation, indifference, intimidation, imposition of conduct, blame and apparent connection) and 23 sub-factors. For each sub-factor, four items were created, totaling 92, which were submitted to an analysis of 15 judgments. Of these, 7 responded and, with 80% agreement, which stablished the survey questionnaire. The hypotheses raised were: if the expressions of psychological violence classified by the PMQ are present since the first intimate relationship and if men are more likely to practice this type of violence than the female audience. As a result, it can be highlighted that aggressiveness is inherent to human beings, but violence is a learned behavior, which proliferates in silence, is reproduced between generations and affects all social strata, despite having a greater presence in hostile environments, with low education and social vulnerability. Although the literature review found Works that showed psychological violence among intimate partners, among young people, the elderly, people of the same sex and men, women were the most mentioned victims, especially in marital relationships; however, according to the application of the PMQ, there was no significant difference between genders. Psychological violence occurs since the first relationships and was shown to be present in all factors and subfactors of the PMQ. Its consequences range from insomnia, anxiety, fear, anguish, stress, depression, to cases of suicidal behavior. The main concern, which is the central theme of this work, focuses on the relationship between young people, who are generally immature, surrounded by doubts, and in the formation of their identity and personality. Therefore, the subject must be brought up to the social debate, treated in the family nucleus and in multidisciplinary teams, in addition to alerting to the emergence of new productions on psychological violence and violence between intimate partners, especially in the area of Psychology. |
