The sample consisted of 163 Brazilian orthodontists who send e-mail. The questionnaire contained questions such as open, half open and closed, and for its validation, a pilot test was conducted among 15 orthodontists, participants and ex-student of the Graduate Program in Dentistry, Methodist University of Sao Paulo, who did not were included in this study. Data were tabulated with the use of absolute frequency (n) and relative frequency (%). To verify the correlation between ordinal variables we used the Spearman correlation coefficient. To investigate the association between qualitative variables we used the nominal chi-square. In all tests, significance level of 5% (p <0.05). All statistical procedures were performed with the Statistica V. 5.1 (StatSoft Inc., Tulsa, USA). It was observed that the Brazilian orthodontists prefer to treat patients with Class II malocclusion during the late mixed dentition, where demand for treatment in clinics and / or clinics has occurred mostly between 10 to 13 years, and female. Among treatment modalities, it was found that 25 to 50% of professionals treat their patients in two phases, is the use of Extra Oral Appliance (49.1%), Bionator (33.1%) or Fixed Orthopedics Appliance, such as APM(17.8%), and Class II elastics (8.6%).
