Resumo: The evangelical traffickers and the Marvelous Holy City have been awakening looks and analyzes about a new way of being Pentecostal evangelicals in Rio de Janeiro. Apparent ambiguities in the drug-religion relationship that since the early 1990s have been leading dynamics in contexts of vulnerabilities and violence in favelas in the north of the state. In this research, we will understand the relationships between narco-religious self-representation and the dynamics of destruction and replacement of elements of faith as an aspect of disputes for territorial domination in Rio de Janeiro. We will initially look at the Afro-religious transition to Pentecostal movements and the phenomenon of cultural transformation, especially in favelas and suburbs. Then, we will analyze the redirection of the religious self-representation of drug traffickers inserted in this context from the prayers to their Gods. Finally, we will demonstrate how sacred symbols are manipulated in the dynamics of religious violence and territorial domination in the territories of Rio de Janeiro and Baixada Fluminense in recent years.(AU)
