Resumo: |
This study aims to demonstrate psychometric properties of the Women's Career Development Barriers Scale. For this purpose, analyzes of validity evidence based on content, as well as based on the internal structure, were performed. 210 Brazilian workers participated in this study. Internal consistency levels were estimated for the Women's Career Development Barriers Scale and the convergence between barriers in women's career development and workaholism. The indices indicated an adequate level of agreement by the judges since most items presented a satisfactory result. Factor analysis identified an internal structure with five factors (Work Conflict – Family, Management Policies and Practices, Intragroup Discrimination, Discriminatory Practices and Internal Barriers), with adequate internal consistency and convergence with workaholism. It is expected that the scale will have a positive impact on the management of women's work with a view to expanding participation, inclusion and equity in working and career conditions. It is recommended for use in further investigations to promote equal conditions for women in different work contexts.(AU) |
