Resumo: This paper deals with differences between employees carne from the market and employees with family link about key factor of success in succession process of the family enterprise. To this, it contextualizes the family business about its characteristics, typology and players, as well its tendency in times of globalization. Follow, it contextualizes the family enterprise about its practices in corporative governance, showing its concepts and mainly the agent theory. The main focus in this paper is showed in advance, showing the characteristics of the succession process in family enterprises, when was necessary to understand the characteristics of life cycle in family business. It also presented the key factor for success in the succession process of a family business founded in theory. To strength the theory base, it was made the case study through interview with employees with family link and executives carne from market. Finally, it is explain the main differences founded between the two groups interviewed.
